Kongsberg University Technology Centres (UTC)
Kongsberg run two University Technology Centres, UTC’s in Scandinavia to support strategic hydrodynamic research.
- The UTC-model gives a long-term mutual engagement and within the UTC framework, researchers and PhD students are working on strategic research topics defined to address future needs of Kongsberg’s hydrodynamic capabilities. The hydrodynamicists at Kongsberg collaborates closely with the university staff to support, guide the research and make sure results are being implemented and made available to designers at Kongsberg.
- Two centres are currently active in marine hydrodynamics:
- Computational Hydrodynamics at Chalmers (Gothenburg), founded in 2002.
- Performance in a Seaway at NTNU (Trondheim) founded in 2005.
