The bollard pull test is performed in the upper measuring section of KHRC free-surface cavitation tunnel T-31.
At the bollard pull test, thrust and torque are measured at a range of different cavitation numbers σ’, by changing the shaft speed and tunnel pressure with no water velocity.
The result is presented in a diagram showing non-dimensional thrust and torque coefficients, KT and KQ as a function of the cavitation number, σ’.
Cavitation on the propeller and nozzle are observed and documented at different cavitation numbers and propeller loadings using stroboscopic light and standard digital cameras.
