An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as Import Export Coordinator. Working within the Kongsberg Discovery UK Customer Services team, you will be responsible for providing guidance to the business on export and import activities and be involved in the management of all aspects of import and export regulatory requirements as they relate to day-to-day shipping activities.

What you will be doing
- Generate accurately all essential shipping and customs documentation to ensure compliance with export/import regulations
- Plan and book transport arrangements by sea, air and road for shipments from site and third-party suppliers for world-wide deliveries
- Coordinate and communicate shipment delivery requirements with freight forwarders for both internal and external shipments including import, export and domestic
- Act as point of contact for the business on all export/import shipping transactions
- Carry out import checks for customs requirements ensuring correct cost prices, commodity codes, delivery and payment terms are being used
- Provide import/export clearance instructions to freight forwarders
- Handle and analyse customs declarations to ensure accuracy by the appointed freight forwarder and broker/agent.
- Responsible for timely, accurate and complete record keeping in accordance with all export and import regulatory requirements
- Reconciliation and approval of freight invoices, Intrastat, ONS & HMRC reporting as required
- Challenge and contribute to improving existing ways of working to drive higher operational efficiencies
We think you should have the following qualifications and experience
- Min HND qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business or similar subject
- Min 3 years relevant experience
- Experience from international transport, logistics or global export
- Familiarity with UK and US export controls and working experience in shipping against export licences
- Well versed in import and export regulations
- Independently handle customs queries related to import and export shipments.
- Good understanding of the international trade rules (customs valuation, rules or origin and origin preference, incoterms, HS tariff classifications, customs special procedures, duty optimization, Free Trade Agreements, licences and permits, export controls and sanctions etc.)
- Experienced in using digital tools like ERP and Office 365: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Power BI
