Joystick M50: Precision control at low speeds

The Joystick M50 offers intuitive, low-speed vessel positioning and manoeuvring, combining manual control with automated features for optimal efficiency. Its seamless integration with propulsion and thruster control systems ensures effortless operation and precise control in a variety of maritime environments.

  • Allows precision manual vessel positioning and low-speed manoeuvring
  • Intuitive user touchscreen display
  • Tight integration with our propeller, thruster, and rudder controls
  • Switching between automatic and manual operations through shared touchscreen display

The operator station, comprising the joystick and a touchscreen, consists of just a few components, keeping the bridge layout clean. The Joystick M50 equipment can be fitted into various operator station solutions, such as in an operator chair, desktop mount, or desk drop-in mount. If a Kongsberg Maritime thruster control system is already installed on the vessel, the Joystick M50 can use the existing touchscreen display as well as the system`s network cabinet for a copact, minimal installation.

Key functions:

  • Joystick control: The surge, sway and yaw forces are controlled manually by using the 3-axis joystick
  • Station-keeping: Keeps the vessel in a fixed position and heading and allows for controlled position and heading changes via the input devices or directly on the display
  • Green station-keeping: Minimises thruster use while keeping the vessel within a defined position radius.
  • Towing mode: Accounts for along-ship forces that occur during towing operations
  • Thrust allocation: Active in all operational modes, the function converts force requirements for position and heading into thrust and azimuth setpoints for all propulsion and rudder units.

Advanced Manoeuvring product range: Superior control for every operation

Explore our advanced manoeuvring solutions, designed to deliver precision control, enhanced manoeuvrability, and reliable performance across diverse maritime operations.
