Due to team expansion and a colleague moving internally, we are seeking 2 new Service Operations Coordinators to our Service Operations team within our Global Customer Solutions (GCS) division. As Service Operations Coordinator (SOC), you will work in a team with other SOCs, at the forefront of enabling the business to achieve objectives through Field Service planning & coordination, successful upgrades & installation projects as well as start-ups/commissioning of new vessels with Kongsberg propulsion equipment.
To date, our Service Operations team has been coordinating the Field Service activities and planning. GCS is now also taking over the responsibility for the coordination of the commissioning of all Kongsberg equipment for both naval and commercial projects offering a wider variety of projects within our Service Operations team. The incorporation of commissioning coordination and continued development of installation support and related new services is key to the future success of the company and we want you to help us shape this journey.
In the role as Service Operations Coordinator, you will take a leading and an active part in defining and realizing the new setup, the processes and the tools needed for Kongsberg to improve, grow and succeed in tomorrow’s maritime aftermarket.
As a Service Operations Coordinator you are part of a team that leads the day-to-day operations on the field where we support each other’s to achieve great customer experience.
Your main focus will be to plan, ensure and follow up the execution of the commissioning globally. This is achieved through our great network of local coordinators, field service engineers, sub-suppliers, and contractors.
In both short- and long-term perspective, you are distributing assignments and planning based on requests from our customers and internally. You are an important link in both internal and external communication, where the goal is to understand and meet the customer's needs and to ensure the startups are well planned and executed. Where possible you will also suggest additional services with which we can support.
In this role you will interact and cooperate across all Kongsberg divisions and functions who deliver products to the same vessel - building your competence, your business understanding and your network.

Our Swedish team consists of 24 Field Service Engineers that you, together with other coordinators and our global network (~500 FSEs and ~50 coordinators), will coordinate to different complex service and commissioning assignments around the world. These assignments consist of system deliveries of various products, such as shaft line, propulsion products and control systems, from several internal and external suppliers. For the coordination work, you also need to produce quotation documentation, create service orders and schedule in our planning tool.
Qualifications and experience
We are looking for an experienced project coordinator or manager with a bachelor’s degree or equivalent university education, preferably including project management/leadership. As it is crucial that communication is clear both internally in the organization and externally with international customers, written and oral knowledge of English is a requirement. Additional language skills in either Swedish or Norwegian is preferred. To succeed in the role, we also require that you have experience working in IT systems. Previous experience in leading teams (professionally or privately), as well as knowledge in mechanics, hydraulics, and/or electronics is advantageous. Experience of leading commissioning and/or field service operations from another business is also valued highly.
As many projects are ongoing in parallel, it is important that you are customer service oriented and able to coordinate multiple assignments at the same time. Your skills in communication and ability to maintain and build relationships is crucial for this position. We see you as a structured person who enjoys working in clarified processes but can also adapt and reschedule in a self-driven, solution-oriented, and quick way when necessary.
