Senior Electrical Engineer, System Studies

Energy Systems is part of our Energy unit who is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg's Energy products and systems.
As our Senior Electrical System Studies Engineer, you will support our journey towards greener shipping. This calls for a thorough understanding of current solutions and innovation of new opportunities that will shape the future of the maritime industry.
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced power system analysis using ETAP and Matlab/Simulink for Short Circuit Analysis, Load flow studies, motor starting studies, harmonic analysis, protective relay coordination, arc flash studies, transient stability simulation incl. voltage ride through.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyse and optimise electrical systems and ensure safety compliance and implement mitigation to ensure that the systems are efficient and reliable in accordance with regulations, standards, and class requirements.
- Streamline processes for delivering and documenting power system studies.
- Contribute to project planning and reporting.
- Provide expert advisory during commissioning.
Qualifications and experience
- MSc/BSc Electrical Engineering is preferred.
- Strong background in design and delivery of maritime power systems.
- Good understanding of existing and future energy concepts for the maritime and offshore markets. The candidate must be able to demonstrate experience with power systems analysis and electrical infrastructure (HV/LV, AC/DC, DC/AC and DC/DC) for marine and offshore applications.
