Field Service Engineer – Merchant Automation

As a Field Service Engineer, you will be the frontline representative of Kongsberg to our global customers. We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our Global Customer Support (GCS) team in Doha, Qatar.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for the installation and commissioning of Kongsberg’s AutoChief Propulsion Control Systems and K-Chief Marine Automation Systems on vessels and major shipyards worldwide. You will provide service and maintenance for ships equipped with our systems and offer in-house technical support to our customers. Candidates with technical expertise in electro, automation, or electronics are encouraged to apply. Main Responsibilities

  • Installation and commissioning of AutoChief and K-Chief systems
  • Maintenance, repair and troubleshooting incl. refit/retrofit of our AutoChief and K-Chief systems.
  • Performing service and maintenance on vessels globally
  • Technical on-call service and assistance to our customers and colleagues in the Middle East.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to customers and colleagues
  • Documentation and Reporting.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent in Electronics, Automation, or Instrumentation and Control Systems.
  • Field experience in maritime, shipping, and/or offshore oil & gas installations; Group Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • General good knowledge of computer systems
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Kongsberg Maritime products is an advantage.
