Electromechanical Assembler

Kongsberg Maritime and its Automation & Control business unit deliver world-leading automation solutions for process control and safety systems to oil and gas installations worldwide. We are in an exciting growth period and are looking for a dedicated Electromechanical Assembler to strengthen our dedicated team and who wants to be part of our journey ahead.

As an electromechanic with us, you will be part of our dynamic team composed of different experience, expertise and age. We emphasize sharing knowledge and cultivating a work culture that not only enables the best possible well-being, but also promotes an efficient working day.

Your tasks will mainly be electromechanical assembly, cabling and mechanical adaptation of cabinets to new deliveries and upgrades of Kongsberg Maritime's equipment. You will also be involved in other tasks in the department such as training apprentices and new employees, developing and maintaining the department's internal documentation such as work instructions and checklists, as well as the department's process and improvement work.

Our products are mainly alarm management, motor control and rudder control systems.

We are looking for a person who is motivated to take responsibility for quality and efficiency in project implementation, focuses on good cooperation, competence sharing and clear communication.

Responsibilities

  • Electromechanical assembly and cabling of cabinets and similar equipment for project deliveries
  • Mechanical adaptation, such as cutting with jigsaws and angle grinders for screens, ventilation and other equipment
  • Collaboration and communication with project and product managers
  • Production of standard products for stock
  • Contribute to the training of apprentices and new employees
  • Development and maintenance of internal documentation
  • Continuous improvement work

Qualifications and experience

  • Certificate in relevant fields, e.g. production electronics/switchboard fitter, electrician, mechanic, etc. Relevant experience can compensate for a lack of a certificate of apprenticeship
  • Experience with power tools such as jigsaws and angle grinders are an advantage
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, both verbal and written form
  • General computer/IT knowledge
