Service Engineer

We are seeking a Service Engineer to join our Global Customer Support team! If you have experience in Automation and Control Systems and hands-on skills with Automations and Thrusters, we want to hear from you. You will play a crucial role in supporting our customers around the world, offering remote product guidance, and contributing to a knowledge pool that supports our field service team. Responsibilities:

  • Focus on customer support, commissioning, and service on assigned Kongsberg Maritime product range onboard vessels.
  • Cover service activities in Southeast Asia region and maintain good relationship with existing clients.
  • Workshop test and technical preparations.
  • Proper preparation and execution of work assigned and ensure performance are always met Responsible for generation of service reports, update drawings, cable information database and relevant technical documents.
  • Provides remote guidance / product support to customers and backend support to the service team.
  • Assist our sales department with technical issues.
  • Handling pre and post administrative work.
  • Required to undertake ad-hoc duties which may be assigned from time to time.

Qualifications and experience

  • Min. Degree in Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronic Engineering.
  • Min 3-5 years of working experience for automation systems (controls and propulsion), system process knowledge, distributed control systems and power management.
  • Relevant working experience in maritime industry is an advantage.
  • Must have excellent co-operative skills, good communication skills, result oriented and self-motivated.
  • Meticulous & methodical approach to remote case handling.
  • Self-driven attitude to find solutions to problems.  Passion and patience for handling customers – Service minded.
  • On-board system process knowledge, experience with distributed control systems
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Able to travel on short notice.
