KONGSBERG launches powerful recruitment and visibility campaign

KONGSBERG is launching a powerful new recruitment film as the hub of a larger campaign about the technology group.

The film addresses key global challenges related to sustainability and security, and premieres in prime time on TV2 with screening ahead of the Champions League final Saturday 10 June.

KONGSBERG’s new communication concept, and the main message in the two-and-a-half-minute long film, is "Protechting People and Planet". The concept and the film will be visible in a number of other channels – including digital and printed communication, as well as activities and events aimed at universities, colleges and recruitment fairs.

“KONGSBERG is a global technology group with a proud history of over 200 years. We work with technology that contributes to security and defence, reduces emissions in the maritime sector, we develop satellite-based solutions that monitor deforestation, climate change and can reveal illegal fishery, and we have technology to develop new, green energy sources such as offshore wind. With our new concept, where we deliberately have a misspelling, we want to make even more visible how we as a technology company contribute to solving several of the major societal challenges we face,” says Even Aas, Executive Vice President Communications, Public Relations and Sustainability at KONGSBERG.

Invitation to join the journey

One of the main motivations to become even more visible is both to recruit more new talents, and to recognize employees and partners in the broad ecosystem KONGSBERG is a part of.

“We have more than 12,000 employees and several thousand subcontractors and partners in Norway and internationally. We work across research and industry, and together with visionary customers we jointly develop world-class technology and solutions. What we want to achieve by becoming even more visible is to recognize the importance of what we achieve together today in order to invite and recruit new colleagues and partners to join us in what we will do together tomorrow,” says Aas.

Powerful film concept

The group's new film starts by setting up key global issues before taking viewers on a journey from the depths of the ocean to outer space. The viewers get to meet a colorful, strong and resolute force that symbolizes the collective strength of KONGSBERG, and what can be solved through hard work, creativity, innovation and cooperation.

“The film is about sustainability, safety, creativity and technology. In the film, the main character is a creative force that comes from the KONGSBERG and our partners, and who shows what technology can and must do to solve the challenges we face. The final message in the film, "Join us and pioneer change – Protecting People and Planet", is a reminder and invitation that it is we together who must find solutions that ensure a safer and better tomorrow, starting today,” says Aas.

The agency partner in the production of the concept, campaign and film has been the communications agency Los & Co.
