Since 2007, KONGSBERG has delivered more than 16 000 Remote Weapon Station systems to the US Army, providing soldiers in all services within US Department of Defense lethality solution in a protected environment in missions and operations all over the world.

The US Army awarded KONGSBERG the first CROWS contract in 2007. More than a decade later, KONGSBERG is still the sole provider of CROWS for the US Army with the latest IDIQ contract awarded September last year valued at 498 MUSD. To date, the US Army has placed orders with KONGSBERG worth 68% of the IDIQ contract.
- The unique experience the US soldiers have provided us through millions of hours using the systems, has enabled KONGSBERG to further develop and improve the technical advances of the PROTECTOR CROWS, says Pål Bratlie. The latest Purchase Orders have included the CROWS Low Profile for Abrams Main Battle Tanks the new CROWS-J fitted with a Javelin ATGM missile, additional spares as well as continued support and maintenance.
Production and support of the CROWS will continue in in KONGSBERGs state-of-the art production facilities in Johnstown, Pa. The system protect troops from harms way, while increasing effective range, precision and giving a decisive advantage in situational awareness.
