Advanced Training for Real-World Maritime Operations

Elevate maritime training with K-Sim Navigation, a state-of-the-art ship’s bridge simulator. Featuring advanced physics, hydrodynamic modeling, and immersive visuals, it provides highly realistic navigation scenarios, ensuring safer and more efficient operations at sea

Students train in a realistic environment

The simulator provides students with highly realistic training using vessels, objects, and equipment that behave and interact as in real life thanks to an advanced physics engine and state-of-the-art hydrodynamic modelling. The sophisticated new visual system brings vessels and objects, including geographical exercise areas and all possible weather conditions, to life.

With K-Sim Navigation, instructors and students use the latest in advanced and integrated ship’s bridge simulation, giving them more realistic training scenarios and enhanced benefits. Specifically developed for the maritime education and training industry, K-Sim Navigation is certified by DNV and exceeds the existing STCW requirements.

  • Maximizing performance

K-Sim Navigation simulators provide training for most types of offshore vessels and configurations. The simulator system integrates with an advanced physics engine, in addition to hydrodynamic modelling. This allows vessels, objects and equipment to behave and interact realistically.  which is extremely important for making competence training adaptable to real-life operations.

In a simulator, students and crew and are able to:

    • Learn and practice daily procedures
    • Develop attitudes & best practice
    • Enhance team skills & understanding
    • Gain vital skills crucial for handling emergencies
    • Test scenarios prior to a mission

A new generation of training simulators is accelerating the prototyping, development and verification of autonomous systems for the smart shipping of the future

World-class simulation

K-Sim Navigation delivers high-fidelity simulation with a modular design, supporting offshore vessel bridges, control rooms, and crane cabins.

Real-time physics ensure anchor chains, lines, and crane wires behave with true-to-life tension and forces. Combined with advanced 3D visuals and seamless integration with other systems, it sets the standard for offshore training.

Realistic training, intuitive instruction

Immersive Simulation: Advanced physics and 3D visuals create lifelike vessel behavior, environments, and weather conditions.

Easy Exercise Creation: Instructors design scenarios with drag-and-drop tools, automatic recording, and advanced assessment for optimal training.

Choose between desktop and full mission simulators

The K-Sim Navigation is extremely flexible. To fit your exact requirements, the simulators can be configured for a desktop computer or an operational full mission simulator using custom panels and instruments. This gives a new level of realism, as crew can train on the identical equipment that they will later operate onboard ships.
  • Cloud-Based - Class D

K-Sim Navigation can be delivered as cloud-based training solutions through the K-Sim Connect portal. This is a online/eLearning solution compliant with DNV’s Class D certification. It enables students to carry out simulation training anytime and anywhere.

  • Desktop - Class C

The desktop solution fulfills DNV’s Class C requirements and is ideal for basic training in a class room set up. The system typically includes 1-25 student stations and 1-2 instructor stations to create and manage the simulation exercise.

  • Part task - Class B

The part task system is compliant with DNV’s Class B certification and includes an instructor station and a ship’s bridge environment fully equipped with navigation steering gear and instruments like ECDIS and Radar, including  communication equipment. The system also includes a visual system of 120 to 240 degrees field of view.

  • Full mission - Class A

The full mission system is compliant with DNV’s Class A certification and includes an instructor station and a ship’s bridge environment fully equipped with navigation steering gear and instruments like ECDIS and Radar, including  communication equipment. The system also includes a visual system with up to 360 degrees filed of view.
