For safe operations, collision avoidance capability will ensure that the vehicle avoids obstacles in the sea that are detected by proximity sensors. K-MATE provides adaptive waypoint following for survey and AUV operations while analyzing proximity sensor data for collision avoidance.

K-MATE is an autonomous system executing a mission plan for globally supervised operations or direct operator interaction for complex tasks.

K-MATE is the common platform for autonomous operation of unmanned and autonomous vessels delivered by Kongsberg Maritime. It will integrate either directly to electrical interfaces to the onboard propulsion and steering system, through an autopilot or the vessels dynamic positioning system. This enables it to be integrated with almost any vessel.

K-MATE provides the following autonomous features; waypoint following, AUV following, adaptive line spacing for EM systems, mother vessel following, virtual anchor, collision detection and avoidance and more.

CLOUD CONNECTIVITY

Global supervision of autonomous entities is possible through Kongsberg’s cloud solution, KognifAI, where operators can monitor vessel movement and collected data, or even take control of the vessel if necessary. Easy and accessible operational status is instantly available through KognifAI, enabling key personnel to monitor asset status anytime, anywhere.

Autonomous vehicles enables safe and effective operations for data acquisition, surveillance and inspection. By increasing coverage and acquisition frequency, greater value can be achieved through the acquired data, providing greater knowledge for applications within ocean research, commercial and defence markets.
