KONGSBERG develops products and solutions for highly demanding situations. We manufacture advanced mechanical and composite products, as well as specialised materials, meeting stringent quality requirements for everything from fighter aircraft to satellites. In addition, we provide maintenance services for critical components used in helicopters, aircraft, and naval vessels.
Such positions require insight and expertise across multiple disciplines. Much of this competence is gained through hands-on experience in the workplace and learning from skilled colleagues. Other roles require more formal education and training. That is why we work closely with schools and universities across the country to ensure that each individual receives the necessary training to support the company’s objectives.
A recent example is our collaboration with the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN).
Executive Operations Management
Norwegian industry is undergoing a transformation, creating a strong demand for leaders with expertise in production management. To address this need, USN and KONGSBERG took action in 2024 by launching a new programme in production and operations management.
The one-year programme, called Executive Operations Management (EOM), is designed for skilled workers, engineers, and professionals with relevant experience who seek leadership development in production and operations management. The programme is modular, awarding 60 ECTS credits, and will commence in the autumn of 2025.

In Trøndelag, Norway, Kongsberg Aviation Maintenance Services collaborates with Fosen Upper Secondary School to provide courses and training in aircraft maintenance education. The school currently offers both VG2 and VG3 programmes in aviation subjects for students. Starting in 2025, Fosen will also offer specialised training for KONGSBERG employees seeking further education in aircraft maintenance.
