The United States represents by far the largest marketplace for KONGSBERG. This is true today and in the foreseeable future. All of KONGSBERGs four business areas are represented in the United States, generating jobs and value, and pursuing new opportunities both in the civilian and military sector.
Eirik Lie, acting President of Kongsberg Defence Systems, received the award on behalf of KONGSBERG.
“KONGSBERG is much appreciative for receiving this renowned award. We have great expectations for the continued collaboration with our American partners and customers. This award is recognition of all the hard work and efforts… of the many people that has contributed to our successes in the United States. Let me use this opportunity to thank you all at large, and in particular the national board of the NACC for bestowing upon us this great honor”, Lie said in his speech of thanks.
124 YEARS IN THE U.S
“Eirik Lie, please describe the importance for KONGSBERG of receiving this prestigious award”
“I think this is very important for KONGSBERG. We have been in the United States for quite a few years, actually since 1892 which makes 124 years. The starting point was with the Krag-Jørgensen rifle and that was a big success back in those days with more than 500 000 rifles produces. We are really honoured and if you look at this event and the previous award winners, we are in an exclusive club now, concludes Eirik Lie.
