Sustainability Manager

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey as the Sustainability Manager at Kongsberg Maritime? As member of our Technology office team, you will play an important role in the Kongsberg Maritime mission of enhancing operational efficiency and deliver safe, secure, reliable, and sustainable products to our customers.  With a constant curiosity, we explore new technologies and ways to work to stay ahead in the maritime industry.

The Sustainability Manager will develop and implement sustainable practices throughout the company, with a focus on reducing the environmental impact of our operations and use of our products. The successful candidate will be Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Sustainability and Circular Economy, included being updated on national and international laws and regulations, coming requirements, and International Conventions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of the Sustainability Strategy with Goals, Targets, and KPIs.
  • Identify gaps, develop plans, and drive sustainability projects. Report on the company's progress towards sustainability goals.
  • Support in formulating sustainability policies, procedures, and transition plans.
  • Responsible for Sustainability reporting including the reporting process in the Business Management System, securing quality data, data validation and analysis, and timely deliveries. Create and maintain dashboards.
  • SME in EU CSRD ESRS (Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, European Sustainability Reporting Standards), circular economy and life cycle assessment.
  • Work across divisions to integrate sustainability considerations into product road maps and operations.
  • Maintain internal communications plan and communicate systematically around sustainability goals, targets, plans and status.

Qualifications and experience

  • BSc, MSc or experience in sustainability, demonstrating a strong academic background.
  • Deep knowledge of sustainability and the maritime markets, with a clear understanding of the global challenges and opportunities
  • Digital competence and a solid understanding of data-driven operations, both in own and customer operations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling you to engage efficiently with diverse stakeholders and drive change.
