Senior Automation Engineer, Handling systems - Control & Digital

Our Handling division owns, develops, and delivers world class handling solutions, with focus on system solutions and integration driving increased efficiency in our customers' operations. The division is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg Maritime’s winches and handling solutions. Offshore handling is a growth segment for Kongsberg Maritime, both in traditional offshore markets and the emerging renewables markets where we are well positioned to take a leading role.

We are recruiting for Senior Automation Engineers, Handling Systems – Control & Digital, reporting to Team lead SSP. In this role you will be working with harmonization within KM product solutions, design of electrical control systems on customer projects related to winches and handling systems in our KM Deck Machinery product portfolio.

Key accountabilities

· Contribute to the development of new products, systems, and concepts

· Contribute to the harmonization within products and communicate with key persons

· Contribute to shaping the product area in close collaboration with key players

· Understand how your work contributes to Handling strategy and deliver to required cost & quality

· Follow projects from sales phase to equipment delivery

· Design and documentation of complex electrical systems for large offshore vessels

· Commissioning support in customer projects

· Technical support within own organization

· Follow up on suppliers and assist KM supply chain

· Contribute to our team; socially and professionally

Qualifications and experience

· Electro or Automation education to Bachelor level

· Minimum 5 year’s relevant experience in automation, electrical engineering and system design

· Knowledge of Deck Machinery products is an advantage

· Experience working with electrical drive solutions

· Knowledge of hydraulic systems is an advantage

· Experience of electrical design tools and PLM systems (2D Autocad, CadettElsa, Teamcenter 13 for example)

· Familiar within ATEX / IECEx UL or FM / NEC500 & 505 standards is an advantage

· EX experience is an advantage

· Working knowledge of the major Class Society rules and regulations
