Project Manager - Propulsion & Handling

The department is a part of the Global Customer Support division, for Propulsion & Handling. Kongsberg Maritime GCS delivers customer support activities to ship owners operating worldwide within the Kongsberg Propulsion & Handling portfolio. 

Responsibility

  • Ensure that work is performed in accordance with the Kongsberg Maritime Business Management System (BMS).
  • Knowledge and understanding of both GCS overall and department goals. Contribute in the fulfilment of these goals.
  • Be a part of the support operation and ensure that all communication and customer requests are given the right attention/priority and response.
  • Proactively follow up on all inquiries to ensure continuous progress and proper action towards customers.
  • Assist KM GCS network in technical and operational issues.
  • Participate in improving GCS operation, as required.
  • Deliver tasks in accordance with KM values.
  • Manage a portfolio of Propulsion & Handling projects
  • Plan, execute and control the projects according to mandate
  • Financial responsible for own project portfolio
  • Establish and maintain good customer relations
  • Active and reactive aftersales within own project portfolio (Coordinated with After Market Sales)
  • Traveling as required

Authority

  • Carry out necessary measures to correct faults with KM deliveries
  • Request for necessary assistance from other departments to improve KM products.
  • Request necessary assistance/resources from other departments to deliver Propulsion & Handling project

Competence

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred
  • Demonstrable Project Management skills and experience preferred
  • Financial background is a benefit
  • Experience: 2-3 years working experience in marine related projects
  • Personal characteristics: Self Driven, ability to multitask, diplomatic, Solution –Oriented, Representing the Kongsberg values.
  • Language skills - verbally and written: English
  • Travelling as required.
  • Excellent ability to establish and maintain customer and internal relations
  • Good knowledge of KM products and business

Expected Pay Range: $82,000 - $94,000

 As required by law, the salary information above is a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role in Washington. Please note this is a general guideline only and that compensation varies depending on multiple factors including but not limited to skills, experience, qualifications, office location and other business considerations.
