The Drafter/Designer Project Engineer creates and prepares drawings under the direction of the Field Engineers and Project Managers for numerous marine design projects.

You’ll work alongside a team of down-to-earth colleagues who are just as dedicated and ambitious as you are in their respective areas of expertise.

The Project Engineer will be based out of the Lynnwood, WA office and will report to the Director of Engineering.

 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare engineering drawings, sketches, Bill of Materials, and other information for a wide range of customer projects within Ocean Technologies. 
  • Consolidate inputs from a variety of sources to create efficient drawings with input from other stakeholders on the team.
  • Analyze design requirements and present possible solutions for integration with vessels.
  • Includes document controller responsibilities, Teamcenter.
  • Work with third party suppliers to meet contract requirements.
  • Provide pre-sales support including feasibility studies and defining scope of work.
  • Produce contract deliverables for new vessel builds and refurbishments.
  • Continual process improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • 5-7+ years of marine design experience required.
  • Fluent in AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong working knowledge of drafting standards. High comfort level to work with 2d layouts, wiring schematics, and diagrams.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Able to work alone and with a team. Excellent communications skills.
  • Good customer support and people skills.
  • Structured mind-set and work methodology, with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience with class (primarily ABS) and USCG submittals.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with other departments, product centers, and regional offices.
  • Analytical with an affinity for complex problem solving and time-management.
  • Committed and reliable.
  • Experience with naval architecture best practices, hull forms and CFD.
  • Knowledge in hydroacoustics is a benefit.

 

Pay Range: $85,000 - $90,000 annually, DOE

Work Location: Lynnwood, WA

Hybrid work schedule (2 days a week remote)
