FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN

We’re currently looking for a high-performing person for the Field Service Engineer / Technician job position

During the operational lifetime of more than 30.000 installations, we ensure cost-efficient delivery of services, upgrades and spare parts in order to secure availability and predictability to our customers

Key responsibilities & service tasks

  • Commissioning & service activities onboard vessels & shipyards with Kongsberg Maritime systems
  • Support handling technical inquiries together with Technical Support & Engineering department
  • Following the company’s Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Health and Safety (HSE) regulations
  • Timely and accurate completion of service reports,timesheets and expense reports
  • Participation in the development of work processes
  • Collaboration with customers and KM supporting engineers
  • Priotirize and complete work tasks for the assigned service job or project
  • Report all safety / security related incidents on situ
  • Ownership over assigned cases and/or service trips
  • Suggest improvements to our products and report needs to Service Manager
  • Make pro-active suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboard

 

Skills and Requirements

  • A degree in vocational high school with min 5 years experience , or associate degree or bachelor degree on electric , electronic , automation , mechanical , marine engineering and two to four years marine electricians
  • Experience with KM products or marine industry is considered as an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience with basic networking,MS World and Excel
  • Domestic and International travel at short notice
  • Customer service oriented,ability to work effectively under pressure
  • Ability to multi task,high focus on problem solving
  • Able to work alone and with a team,high motivation to work
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
  • Dedication and desire to build a long career within the technical field
