K-Sim® Thermal power plant

Simulation training for safe, efficient and economical thermal power plant operation The K-Sim Engine Thermal Power Plant simulator is based on a real thermal power plant in Vasteras, Sweden.

K-Sim® Thermal power plant

The K-Sim Engine Thermal Power Plant (TPP) simulator replicates a real thermal power plant, providing hands-on training for operators. It focuses on essential skills such as startup and shutdown procedures, emergency handling, and safety protocols, ensuring effective learning and assessment in realistic scenarios.

Model

The simulated plant runs on oil (for startup) or coal, producing 255 MW (oil) or 190 MW (coal) in condensation mode. In back-pressure mode, it delivers 350 MW (oil) or 260 MW (coal) for utility heating.

Industry Compliance

KONGSBERG’s simulator models exceed STCW Regulation 1/12 and meet DNVGL-ST-0033 standards for maritime simulators.

Training Levels

The Thermal Power Plant model supports both basic and advanced training for engineers. It helps junior engineers learn engine room operations, senior engineers handle emergencies and troubleshooting, and chief engineers optimize performance, fuel economy, and energy conservation. Realistic simulations ensure a deeper understanding of plant operations.

Model Features

The simulator includes a full range of interactive systems for comprehensive training, such as steam plant operations, fuel and water systems, boiler control, steam turbines, condensers, and emission control (DeNox and De-Sulphurization). Each system is visually represented with interactive mimic diagrams for effective learning.
