Model

The K-Sim Engine MaK Container M11 simulator features a main engine model that responds dynamically to changes in the operation and conditions of the ship model. The engine is connected to a controllable pitch propeller via a reduction gear and an air-operated clutch, with a shaft generator attached to the reduction gear. The propulsion plant can operate in combinator, split, economy, or shaft generator modes. The electrical power plant includes two 600 kW diesel engine-driven generators, two 600 kW synchronous shaft-driven generators, and one 180 kW emergency generator. The engines can operate on Heavy Fuel Oil (HFO) or Marine Diesel Oil (MDO), offering flexibility in fuel use.

Meeting Industry Standards

Kongsberg Digital’s simulator models meet and exceed the requirements set by the STCW Convention, Regulation I/12, and fulfill DNV GL’s DNVGL-ST-0033 standard for Maritime Simulator Systems.
