Model

The K-Sim Engine MaK Container M11 simulator is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of the operation and systems of a medium-speed main engine, geared down and connected to a controllable pitch propeller. The setup includes a shaft generator, electrical transmission to a switchboard, and an electrical power plant consisting of two diesel generators and one emergency generator. The simulator also features control room operator panels, bridge, and steering panels. In addition to graphical process mimics of engine room systems, the Walkthrough Virtual Engine Room application allows students to virtually explore the engine room and operate machinery systems locally.

Meeting Industry Standards

Kongsberg Maritime simulator models exceed the requirements outlined in the STCW Convention, Regulation I/12, and meet the rigorous standards set by DNV GL’s DNVGL-ST-0033 for Maritime Simulator Systems.
