Lead/Senior Engineer

Kongsberg Maritime, LNG/FGSS Engineering, is looking for a Lead/Senior Engineer to join our team. Our department is specialized in delivering automation systems for control and monitoring of gas solutions on board vessels with LNG tanks (LNG Carrier, FSRU and FLNG).
We utilize onboard sensor data, in combination with emission monitoring solutions, to provide our customers with overviews, decision-support and operational advices within our segment of expertise. Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) as a fully integrated part of the automation system contribute to a more complete overview over emissions and performance.

We are a team of approx. 30 engineers and project managers in LNG/FGSS Engineering, and in this role you will work dedicated with various LNG automation projects including emission monitoring solutions. We work closely with our colleagues in Asia where the majority of LNG vessels are built.

As part of our team you will be working with configuration of maritime automation systems, maritime information management systems, and/or continuous emission monitoring systems. If you have experience with project execution in the maritime LNG segment, and operational knowledge of LNG processes onboard, we would like to hear from you!

Responsibilities

  • Develop functionality and overviews in the automation system, information management system, and/or continuous emission monitoring system supporting onboard crews and onshore ship owner personnel in their daily operational tasks.
  • Support technical requests from the sales department.
  • Travel as required.

Qualifications and experience

  • Experience with configuration of maritime automation systems, maritime information management systems, and/or continuous emission monitoring systems.
  • Experience from project execution, early engineering with a top-down perspective and systems engineering principles in the maritime LNG segment.
  • Knowledge of natural gas properties/dynamics is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of operations for LNGC, FSRU and/or FLNG.
  • Experience with using Matlab and/or Python is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of maritime class requirements and/or maritime emission regulations is an advantage.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
  • Fluent communication in Norwegian and English.
