Kongsberg Gruppen wins new contract

Kongsberg Defence Communications AS of Asker has signed a contract with the Romanian Ministry of the Interior for the delivery of a new communications system for police and borders controls. The contract is valued at roughly MNOK 278, and the system is scheduled for delivery in 2002. The final system test, followed by delivery, is scheduled to take place by the end of Q1 2003.

President Bjørn Wiggo Bjune of KDC explains that this is the second major contract KDC has won with Romania in the past 18 months. "Winning this contract emphasises the importance of our marketing network and systems expertise", adds Bjune. "At the same time, it confirms our presence in the area. We have great faith in a continued positive trend in this region", he concludes.
