New weapons control contract with Australia

Kongsberg Protech has signed a contract valued at approximately MNOK 40 with the Royal Australian Army. The contract applies to the delivery of weapons control systems for ASLAV 2 armoured personnel carriers made by General Dynamics Land Systems of the US. Kongsberg is scheduled to supply all systems in 2005.

KONGSBERG has received orders from the Royal Australian Army valued at roughly MNOK 80 since June 2004. Thus far, KONGSBERG has delivered the system to Norway, the USA, Finland and Australia.

The principle underlying KONGSBERG's weapons control system is that a soldier can operate an exterior weapon from inside an armoured personnel carrier, and thus remain protected from enemy fire.
