US Navy simulator contract

Kongsberg Maritime has won an order to provide 20 shipboard and 3 shore based navigation simulators to the US Navy. The NOK 50 million contract is part of the ongoing 'NSST' (Navigation, Seamanship, and Ship handling Training) program with the US Navy. The program includes the provision of distributed seamanship and navigation simulator training onboard and at local naval bases, which represents a new strategy for the Navy.

Kongsberg Maritime's Simulation business unit in Horten, Norway and Connecticut, the United States has been working for quite some time to provide the US Navy with the most flexible solutions meeting the US Navy's new training requirements. This new contract represents a major break-through and was won in close competition with major US and international competition.

The contract includes comprehensive system support and maintenance service.
