MNOK 80 Irish simulator contract

Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems AS (KMSS) has won an order to provide five large ship simulators to Cork Institute of Technology in Ireland. The MNOK 80 contract includes full mission ships bridge and engine room simulators, liquid cargo-, vessel traffic management- and GMDSS simulators including support and maintenance for 25 years.

All major international suppliers bid for the contract, and KMSS won it based on the company's international reputation, wide product range and the financial strength of the Kongsberg Group.

With a capacity for up to 750 students, the college will provide training both to Irish and overseas students seeking international maritime qualifications as well as the Irish Navy.
