Kongsberg Maritime's subsidiary, Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems, has signed a contract valued at approximately MNOK 30 with Norwegian Partners Marine for the delivery of equipment to Admiralty Shipyards of St. Petersburg, Russia. The contract is for deliveries for Arcti Tankers being built for the Russian oil company LUKOIL.
"This marks an important strategic breakthrough for us", comments President Per Branstad of Kongsberg Marine Ship Systems. "We've been working for a long time to become a total supplier of ships' equipment. Contracts like this one prove that our strategy has succeeded."
The equipment for Admiralty Shipyards ranges from sensors to total systems which include an integrated bridge, engine room automation, bridge control, loading systems, fire safety equipment and a wide variety of sensors.
The contract bears witness to the fact that Kongsberg Maritime Ship Systems has consolidated its position as a total supplier since Autronica of Trondheim joined the company.
"This contract will lead to new opportunities, as a series of similarly equipped vessels will be built", remarks Sales Manager Einar Strand.
