NetCDF Scientific output
The Simrad sonar systems can all provide scientific data on the NetCDF format.
NetCDF (Network Common Data Form) is a data model, an API library (application programming interface) and a file format. It is used for storing and managing scientific data.
NetCDF is developed and maintained by Unidata. Unidata is part of the US University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) Community Programs (UCP). Unidata is funded by the US National Science Foundation.
SONAR-NetCDF is a data and metadata convention for the storage of data from active sonars in NetCDF formatted files, as defined by The International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES). Sonar-NetCDF consists primarily of a naming convention and a data structure within the NetDCF data model.
