SA9000
High frequency hull mounted multipurpose sonar
SA9000 is an active, high frequency omni directional sonar designed for obstacle avoidance and underwater surveillance. It has special capabilities in shallow and extreme shallow waters. Typical applications for this versatile sonar are volume survey with detection of underwater targets like Submarines, Midget-Subs, UUVs and Mine like Objects (MLO).
Compact and versatile
The SA9000 sonar has features and capabilities that makes it well suited for shallow water operations and the compact size makes this sonar a good choice for fast patrol vessels.
Advanced features
The sonar is prepared for integration with ships Combat System (CS) for exchanging data such as target information, sonar parameter settings, and object information. It will run on Windows 10 platform or newer and includes many new features like electronic maps, sound propagation model, recorder and replay functionality typical for military applications.
Precision and stability
The sonar has a hull unit with a hoistable cylindrical multi-element composite transducer array with high bandwidth capability. Each transducer element is electronically and individually controlled. This advanced electronic steering provides stabilization of acoustic beams for compensation against ship roll and pitch movements, enabling 3D target tracking and beam stabilization.
Enhanced target acquisition
The SA9000 sonar has built-in Computer Aided Target Acquisition (CATA) software that provides both manual and automatic target track initiation. It also includes a sound propagation modelling tool that helps the operator find the best sonar setup and the optimal tilt angle for maximum detection range. The sonar is prepared for information exchange with a Combat Management System (CMS) and can be remotely controlled via radio link (e.g. the MBR) for installation on USVs.
