Echo sounders and current indicator (ADCP) systems
Echo sounders, also commonly known as fish finders, are critical tools for finding fish using sound waves.
The technology works by emitting sound pulses into the water; these reflect from the surface of objects or fish in the water column. The echo sounder uses the time it takes for the sound waves to return to calculate the distance. Combined with Simrad's single- and split-beam transducer technology, the echo sounder can also determine how much fish you are looking at, and how big they are.
Our journey in the echo sounder industry began in the early fifties when we designed and developed our first commercially viable echo sounder. This innovative leap placed us at the forefront of fish-finding and underwater exploration technology. Since then, we have continued to lead the field, consistently pushing the boundaries of echo sounder and transducer technology with advanced, reliable, and efficient solutions. From early mechanical paper-based systems to modern computerized echo sounders with large displays, we have been committed to driving progress and setting new standards for accuracy and performance in fish-finding.
As pioneers in this domain, we have built a legacy of innovation and excellence. Our solutions, developed with a keen understanding of the ever-evolving demands of fishery industry and scientific organisations worldwide, continue to set the standard in the marine industry.
