for governmental projects with mechanical background

 

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Project Site Manager for Kongsberg Maritime project deliveries within Germany.

If you have an interest in the maritime industry as well as Propulsion systems, advanced Winch & Handling systems and Motion Control systems, or similar plus experience in project execution for governmental projects, then you have the competence we seek. The department in which our new colleague will be working delivers mainly solutions to new built vessels and installations within the workboat, research vessel and naval segment. The system solutions consist of products from the entire product portfolio: Propulsion, Winch & Handling and Motion Control. Project success is dependent on an effective system integration engineering, thorough execution plans and good focus on the overall progress. So, these will be the main working areas.

 

Responsibilities

  • Primary Kongsberg Maritime point of contact for all on-site activities for yard, contractors, and end-clients in Germany.
  • Interface between customer and English-speaking project team in other Kongsberg entities.
  • Proactively lead the technical discussions for all engineering, installation, testing and commissioning aspects of the project deliverables.
  • Pursue a close cooperation with project participants worldwide.
  • Provide reports of site activities and look ahead to Senior Project Manager / Project Manager.
  • Act as technical sales support during concept phase.

 

Qualifications and experience

  • Higher technical education as a Mechanical Engineer or Technician
  • Experience and knowledge of marine equipment (desirable, but not a strict requirement)
  • Practical hands-on approach to complex tasks
  • Fluent in German and English, both verbal and in writing
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required.
