Senior Tax Manager

Kongsberg Gruppen ASA (KOG), ultimate parent company of KONGSBERG, is looking for a Senior Tax Manager to join Corporate Tax Function. KONGSBERG is a fast-growing global technology group that has become one of the largest companies on the Oslo Stock Exchange, with more than 13 600 employees, revenues of 41,4 BNOK, and operations in 40 countries. Our goal is to grow even further by tripling revenues to 120 BNOK by 2033. KONGSBERG has 4 Business Areas - Maritime, Defense, Discovery (subsea) and Digital.

We seek a new team member able to cover tax aspects such as tax reporting, tax compliance, tax framework management and project work. The candidate will drive initiatives within aeras of change such as Pilar 2 and Public Country by Country Reporting. We need an experienced candidate that shall work independently and in close cooperation with the financial management in our divisions and our global network of subsidiaries.

As Senior Tax Manager you will report to Head of Tax in Kongsberg Gruppen ASA. You will proactively support our business in close cooperation with Corporate functions and the Business Areas with support of external advisors. You will support in strategy and budgeting processes seeking opportunities for improvement. You will support on structuring, reorganization, and tax optimization in general. You will also be leading the implementation of new regulation. You will also support in the areas such as tax framework and controls development to reduce the tax risk in the Group.


Responsibilities & tasks:

  • Develop strong working relationships with business, finance, and tax leadership across the global organization and collaborate on significant tax matters affecting the operations,
  • Continue our effort to managing taxes in the countries and regions by fostering greater collaboration and cooperation between Group Tax, finance resources through the Group, and our advisors
  • Proactively work with business to structure operations to promote and monitor tax efficiency, identify and mitigate tax risk and establish controls as required,
  • Oversee tax operations in areas of compliance, tax provisioning, and audits, and actively engage in quarterly and annual financial reporting and budget processes,
  • Review relevant tax filings for completeness and technical accuracy including proper elections and disclosures, and advise on the impact of transactions
  • Identify and document relevant uncertain tax positions affecting the global tax provision
  • Maintain and enhance global tax framework, policies and processes to help foster a strong control and governance environment within the tax function
  • Work closely with and manage tax advisers when required

Qualifications:

  • Finance master graduate with professional qualifications from a university or similar institution,
  • Minimum 6 years' relevant experience, gained either from a top-tier advisory firm, a multinational group, and/or tax administration,
  • Strong experience in domestic and international corporate tax regulations,
  • Strong experience with financial accounts and tax reporting in general,
  • Experience with M&A activities, such as due diligence processes etc.,
  • Interest in Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing and PE allocation,
  • Good understanding of tax governance, policies and internal controls
  • Strong communications skills

You have good business understanding and good analytical skills. As Senior Tax Manager you need strong communications skills in both Norwegian and English. You have the ability to relate well to people at all levels and to establish networks.

Group Tax is a centralized team in Norway, supporting our global business. We therefore travel to our different offices around the world to enhance cooperation and understanding. Accordingly, some travelling should be expected.

Working location: Oslo (Aker Brygge) or Kongsberg according to preference.
