Sales Manager - Research Vessels and Sales Manager - Naval Vessels

In the Naval and Research segment within Kongsberg Maritime, we are now looking for two new sales managers to join our sales teams. The Sales Manager - Research Vessels role will focus on Research Vessels, including USV and Icebreakers, while Sales Manager - Naval Vessels will focus on Naval ships. In these roles, you will be part of a highly professional team working with leading customers worldwide. Our customers utilize some of the most advanced technology in some of the toughest marine conditions in the world, ensuring extreme performance for extreme conditions

KONGSBERG is seeking individuals with technical expertise and/or business insight, particularly in our A&C product lineShip automation, Bridge systems, Navigation, and/or DPto integrate these products into comprehensive solutions that provide added value for our customer.

You will be part of the Global Sales and Marketing Division who is a global function within Kongsberg Maritime, responsible for presenting the company’s total scope of products and solutions towards customers and marketplace.  

Key accountabilities

  • Prepare, present and promote customer specific solutions to shipowners, yards & designers
  • Create and maintain customer relations
  • Preparation of quotations technical specifications and manage contract negotiations
  • Coordinate customer activities with sales resources within KONGSBERG
  • Responsible for the technical scope, cost estimation and risk assessment of a tender
  • Technical and strategic support to other sales managers
  • Participation in industry conferences and events
  • Be the go-to person for segment relevant requirements together with the Product owners.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor or technical degree in automation, cybernetics , electrical systems or other relevant studies
  • Knowledge or experience with Navigation, automation, bridge, DP or electrical products for the maritime industry
  • Commercial mindset or Sales experience from maritime industry or other relevant products & solutions is an advantage
  • Experience in delivering, using, commissioning or start-up of systems at shipyards is an advantage
  • Other relevant experience in the Maritime industries is an advantage
  • Fluent in English, verbally and in writing
