Project Engineer Interior & Safety HVAC

Engineers wanted to work in the Integrated Projects Engineering department of Integration & Energy, to help deliver the next generation of Ship and System designs, building on over 50 years of experience and over 1000 vessels delivered, and harnessing new technology to enhance reliability, sustainability, and safety of vessel operations. 

We are looking for qualified Interior & Safety/HVAC project engineers with a problem-solving mindset, able to collaborate as part of a team, challenge the status quo, and bring a new perspective to Kongsberg’s strategic goals.

About Integration & Energy – Integrated Projects Engineering 

Kongsberg Maritime has a long history of delivering pioneering Ship and Systems designs of the highest quality, producing state-of-the-art vessels operating in a broad range of segments, from offshore support to expedition cruise and merchant cargo. The Integrated Projects Engineering department delivers the integrated systems engineering, ship design engineering and on-site/at-yard quality control needed to produce vessel newbuilds, upgrades and conversions efficiently and to the highest standard.

Key accountabilities 

  • Contribute to the Interior & Safety/HVAC discipline deliveries during project execution 

  • Main Safety drawings 

  • Accommodation Arrangements and Lay outs 

  • HVAC  

  • Outfitting drawings (Doors, windows and stairs) 

  • Perform rule checks, calculations and supporting documentation for relevant approvals 

  • Collaborate closely with the wider project team 

  • Contribute to maintaining high standards of delivery quality, and assist in R&D programs and technical sales support 

  • Contribute to our team; socially and professionally 

 

Qualifications and experience 

  • Relevant engineering education, from college or university 

  • Educational experience with marine design and construction is an advantage 

  • CAD drafting and drawings. Project follow-up and shipbuilding experience is also an advantage 

  • New graduates are encouraged to apply

This exciting opportunity as Project Engineer – Interior & Safety/HVAC reports to Department Manager – Interior & Safety/HVAC Design. In this role you will be responsible for delivery of engineering documentation within Ship Design division, including follow-up progress and reporting in relevant tools. This role will contribute towards new sales and tender projects, as well as R&T and after-market support.
