Logistics Development Manager

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Development Manager to join our Global Supply Chain team. This role focuses on the strategic development and optimization of logistics processes across the organization, ensuring compliance with global trade regulations, effective risk management, and seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in trade compliance, export control, Incoterms, customs, and risk mitigation, with a proven ability to drive improvements in logistics processes and/or supply chain.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Trade Compliance and Risk Management 

  • Ensure organizational adherence to global trade compliance regulations, including export control laws, sanctions, and customs requirements.
  • Monitor changes in trade legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate compliance risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments for logistics operations, focusing on sanctioned countries, entities, and dual-use goods.
  • Maintain and enforce a robust framework for screening logistics providers suppliers and shipments against sanction lists.

Logistics Operations and Process Optimization 

  • Manage and enhance logistics processes, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Optimize Incoterms usage for cost-effective and risk-aware operations.
  • Maintain warehouse mapping to improve storage, workflows, and inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure logistics operations align with business needs through collaboration with cross-functional teams and business divisions.

Customs and Export Control 

  • Escalate customs-related business challenges to the appropriate subject matter experts for resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with export control regulations, including managing export licenses and performing due diligence on controlled items.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on customs, export control, and the effective use of Incoterms for relevant teams.

 ERP Systems and Data Management

  • Support the implementation of a new ERP system to streamline logistics operations, ensure accurate data entry, facilitate data migration, and improve reporting.
  • Utilize ERP systems to optimize logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring robust data management and reporting accuracy.
  • Identify and implement system enhancements to improve logistics efficiency and ensure compliance tracking.

 Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with business divisions, suppliers, and external partners to align logistics operations with strategic goals.
  • Act as a liaison between the supply chain team and legal, finance, and operations teams to address trade compliance and logistics challenges.

  

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Logistics, International Trade, or related field.
  • 5+ years in logistics, trade compliance, or supply chain management in a global organization. Strong knowledge of trade regulations, export control, and customs processes.
  • Understanding of Incoterms, customs procedures, and trade agreements.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Baan, AX) and logistics digital tools.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Fluency in English, both verbal and in writing.
  • Work will require regular trips to key product centres and logistics partners.
