Logistics Associate

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Logistics Associate who will work in coordination with our Supply Chain & Logistics team as well as our St Rose Warehouse. The Logistics Associate will support the Supply Chain manager in monitoring all logistics needs and act as the primary point of contact for all import-export related activities. This person will work hand in hand with our brokers, line managers, coordinators, warehouse team, and field service engineers to ensure smooth and efficient operations for all things logistics as well as being responsible for local stock inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Local Stock: Oversee local stock and place bi-weekly stock order with product centers ()PC) in the Nordics. Maintain communication with PC’s until order arrives in Warehouse. Update Min/Max list when provided new part numbers for obsolete parts, work in conjunction with Warehouse to determine plan of action for obsolete parts.
  • Maintain KMI HTS database: Update HTS Database and provide needed classification to brokers and KM employees as needed.
  • Coding of freight invoices: Assist Supply Chain in coding freight invoices in Exflow.
  • Assist in inter-office correspondence regarding parts (Missing, returned, broken, stored): Respond to correspondence from local and inter-company colleagues inquiring about; stored items, damaged items, item adjustments, stock orders, missing invoices, returned parts, needed parts from St Rose Warehouse.
  • Broker communications: Assist Supply Chain with broker needs. This includes but is not limited to Product classifications, PGA Info (FDA, EPA, etc) and any other info needed to clear a shipment through customs.  
  • Establish Product Center relationships: Help further establish and nurture our relationships with product centers.
  • Warehouse collaboration: Assist with inventory counts and other various warehouse tasks.
  • Broker Invoice management: Assist in matching freight and duty invoices to shipping documents.  
  • Supply Chain: Assist and back up Supply chain in sourcing, screening, audits and communications as needed.

Authority

  • Authority to place stock orders with product centers (intercompany) and approved vendors according to KM authority matrix.
  • Determine Min/Max levels for KMI warehouses together with business operations.
  • Choose most appropriate freight methods for parts delivery.

  • Team player who works well with many different business functions.
  • Ability to travel if needed to product centers.
  • The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of logistics processes, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • Kongsberg Product knowledge would be a huge benefit.
  • Experience in logistics, import/export and customs clearance processes in USA.
