HSE Engineer

Job Title: HSE Engineer

Department: QHSE

Location: Busan Jeong-gwan office

 

Main Work Tasks:

  • Has the overall responsibility that the HSE system satisfies external and internal requirements in cooperation with department heads and HSE representatives.
  • Evaluate HSE issues, conduct internal and external audits, identify and evaluate HSE risks and recommend necessary preventive measures.
  • Shall be a resource person to all KMKOR employees that need assistance in practical HSE work. Provide consultancy, support and training to targeted groups including instruction on HSE tools, process practical HSE tasks with a fundamental understanding of relevant ISO standards.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and laws, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act. and the Serious Accident Punishment Act.
  • Perform the duties of a safety manager as outlined in Article 18 of the Enforcement Decree of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of new laws, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Responsible for daily HSE activities, annual plans and follow-up activities in KMKOR.
  • Identify hazardous workplace conditions, perform and document job hazard analysis(e.g., Risk Assessments, Safe Job Analysis), and coordinate actions to implement corrective and preventative measures.
  • Manage the response, investigation and assessment of work-related injuries, illnesses, and near-misses and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure proactive HSE reporting and follow-up.
  • Provide training for new and existing employees on company HSE policies, procedures, and regulations, in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
  • Maintain records of health and safety performance.

 

Qualification:

  • Must meet the qualifications for a Safety Manager as stipulated in Article 17 of the Enforcement Decree of the Industrial Safety and Health Act and Eligible to be appointed as a Safety Manager (e.g., Industrial Safety Engineer Certification)
  • Major in industrial safety or related field preferred
  • At least 2 years of work experience preferred but open to recent graduates
  • Preferred business-level English communication
  • Preferred experience in safety management within the shipbuilding industry
  • Preferred experience in ISO 45001 operations
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
  • Must have no restrictions on overseas travel
