Automation & Control Intern (Summer 2025)

An incredible opportunity awaits you as an Automation & Control Intern! As an Automation & Control Intern you will be responsible for supporting automation and propulsion control systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime in the office. This includes working with Dynamic Position, Thruster Control, Propulsion Control, Power Management Systems, Fire & Gas Systems, Emergency Shutdown Systems, Custody Transfer Systems, Gas Management System, and other automation systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime. This is a fast-track technical position that will give you an opportunity to learn new skills in exciting maritime applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop the ability to work on numerous Kongsberg Maritime’s Automation & Control systems
  • Support the Technical team with Factory Acceptance Tests, and Internal Acceptance Tests
  • Execute projects assignments from Project Managers and Technical Advisors
  •  Read and interpret drawings and control system architecture
  • Use of tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errors.
  • Understanding of Power Systems, Control systems, Programming in C
  • Familiar with communication protocols (profibus, TCP/IP, Modbus, etc)

Qualifications:

  • Pursuing a degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering
  • Ability to troubleshoot low voltage electrical components, use of multimeter, etc.
  • Knowledge of general electronic control system concepts such as PID controllers, filters, and communication protocols.
  • Good communication skills and fluent in English
  • Customer service oriented

Monday  – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm
